Lu Shiow-yen joins Chiang Wan-an's Taipei mayoral campaign headquarters

In the lead-up to Taiwan's local elections, political movements are intensifying within the Kuomintang (KMT). Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen has officially accepted the role of chairperson for Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an's campaign headquarters. This move is viewed by analysts as a strategic effort to unify the party's support and project a moderate, positive political image to attract undecided voters. The campaign team will include several legislators serving in key roles, such as Lo Chih-chiang and Hsu Chiao-hsin.

Simultaneously, the Hsinchu County mayoral race is heating up. KMT candidate Hsu Hsin-ying has unveiled her campaign headquarters, centering her platform on “unity, strength, and integrity.” KMT legislators have rallied behind her, launching attacks against opponent Cheng Chao-fang, alleging corruption and ties to organized crime. Hsu aims to position herself as a clean alternative to the current political landscape in Hsinchu.
