HTC unveils Vivee egg-shaped AI companion
HTC has introduced the Vivee, a compact, egg-sized AI digital companion designed to function as a portable personal assistant. Measuring 60 x 60 x 50 mm and weighing 114 grams, the device features an OLED screen used to display animated facial expressions that react to touch, movement, and taps.
The Vivee is designed to develop a personality based on user interactions. Its capabilities include AI-driven conversations, reminders, games, guided meditation, and music playback via a built-in speaker and microphone. The device includes a gyroscope, touch sensors, and haptic feedback. For privacy, the Vivee lacks a camera and includes a physical mute switch to disable the microphone and speaker.
Technical specifications include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and USB-C charging, with a battery intended to last a full day. The device holds an IPX4 water-resistance rating. HTC stated that personal data will not be used to train AI models, though some functions may process data through third-party services.
The Vivee will initially be available in the United States and Canada in colors including Space Black, Star Silver, Pearl White, Lucky Gold, and Ruby Red. The retail price is $119, with a pre-order price of $99.99 available until November 30.
