Hôtel de Crillon facing scandal over privacy breaches

The Hôtel de Crillon, a luxury palace in Paris, is facing a major scandal following reports of severe security and privacy breaches. According to investigations by Libération, security staff allegedly misused surveillance cameras to film guests in intimate moments, including near the pool and spa areas.

Reports indicate that these recordings were not only viewed by employees but also circulated within private WhatsApp groups. Belgian actress Virginie Efira was reportedly among those filmed without consent while at the hotel pool. While the hotel has reportedly provided financial compensation to the actress, she has not commented on the matter.

Former employees have described a culture of systemic dysfunction, including the alleged theft of luxury items and the use of security monitors to view live feeds from private areas like the gym and spa. Some staff members claim they were terminated after attempting to alert management to these practices. The hotel's current head of security has declined to comment on the allegations.
