HTX exits UK market following FCA settlement

Crypto exchange HTX, formerly known as Huobi, has agreed to exit the United Kingdom following a settlement with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The agreement follows legal proceedings initiated in October 2025 regarding unlawful cryptocurrency promotions.

As part of the High Court undertakings, HTX and its parent entity, Huobi Global S.A., are prohibited from knowingly communicating financial promotions that breach UK law through websites, mobile applications, or social media platforms. These restrictions remain in effect until October 21, 2031.

The settlement does not constitute an admission of liability or wrongdoing by HTX. However, the exchange has implemented restrictions that block new user registrations and deposits from the UK. Existing customers are unable to trade or transact on the platform and have been directed to contact customer support to request a one-time, 48-hour window to withdraw remaining assets, subject to identity and security checks.
