Huế authorities address traffic safety through infrastructure and enforcement

Authorities in Huế are implementing measures to improve road safety. The Department of Construction has proposed an 110 billion VND budget to address 71 dangerous curves on National Highway 49, specifically the section between Km25+100 and Km77+700 heading from Huế to A Lưới. The project aims to mitigate risks caused by narrow roads and limited visibility. Due to the potential for traffic congestion and flood risks, the work is planned to be executed in 12 phases between 2027 and 2030, prioritizing the most hazardous locations first.

In a separate enforcement action, Huế City Police reported the detention of a truck driver who tested positive for narcotics and was operating without a driver's license. The incident occurred during a high-intensity traffic safety campaign. The driver faces an expected fine of 53 million VND, and the vehicle has been impounded for further investigation.
