Huế authorities investigate dragon boat crew for littering in Huong River

Authorities in Huế have launched an investigation into a dragon boat tourism vessel (registration HUE-1239) after video footage surfaced showing staff throwing beer cans and plastic bottles into the Huong River.

Following the social media reports, officials met with the boat owner, Mr. N. V. L., who confirmed the incident was true and attributed the actions to his employees. The owner acknowledged that the behavior violated environmental protection regulations and negatively impacted the city's tourism landscape and urban aesthetics.

In response, the owner has signed a commitment to rectify staff conduct, ensure no recurrence of littering, and implement proper waste collection and disposal procedures. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment has coordinated with various local departments to handle the violation and protect the river's environment.
