Huế officials expand industrial logistics and tourism sectors

Huế City Chairman Lê Trí Thanh has conducted a series of inspections aimed at expanding the city's industrial and tourism sectors. During a survey of Mỹ Thủy Port and the Southeast Economic Zone in Quảng Trị, the Chairman identified these areas as critical infrastructure hubs capable of supporting logistics and freight transport for industrial zones in northern Huế, specifically the Phong Điền Industrial Zone.

To support this industrial expansion, the Chairman directed departments to review land funds, prioritizing high-elevation areas less prone to flooding. He emphasized the need for synchronized transportation networks, including coastal roads and expressway connections, to link industrial zones with seaports and the East-West Economic Corridor.

Parallel to industrial efforts, the city is seeking to revitalize its tourism industry. Following inspections of Dong Ba Market and riverfront areas, officials met to discuss developing new tourism products designed to increase visitor stay duration and spending. The strategy focuses on leveraging Huế's heritage, river landscapes, and culinary culture to create a complete tourism ecosystem, including improved dining spaces and cultural experiences like the traditional áo dài.
