Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge boosts tourism in Guizhou

The opening of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou Province has significantly boosted the local economy in Huajiang Village. Described as the world’s highest bridge both vertically and horizontally, the structure opened to traffic in September 2025.

Following the bridge's opening, the village has experienced its first full summer vacation season, with all 15 local homestays and 13 restaurants reporting daily full bookings. This surge in tourism has fueled a cool-climate economy, leading to the conversion of idle farmhouses into high-end accommodations and the development of traditional crafts into creative products. The increased traffic is being utilized to drive rural revitalization and improve local livelihoods.
