Hualien County Labor University launches 100 free practical courses

The Hualien County Labor University held its opening ceremony to launch a series of 100 free practical courses designed to enhance workforce competitiveness and support lifelong learning. The program aims to provide training for approximately 3,000 participants, catering to various demographics including youth, the working population, and seniors.

Following a community needs survey, the curriculum was developed to bridge the gap between traditional labor and emerging industry trends. The courses are categorized into five major areas and 16 series, covering topics such as AI tool applications, drone operation, short video marketing, plumbing, woodworking, entrepreneurship, and legal knowledge.

Hualien County Magistrate Xu Zhenwei emphasized that the university was established by the Social Affairs Bureau to help workers adapt to changing labor market patterns and non-traditional employment. The initiative seeks to provide both high-tech skills, such as AI and aerial photography, and essential manual trades that are less susceptible to automation.
