Hualien hosts 2026 Longitudinal Valley Hakka Music Festival

The 2026 Longitudinal Valley Hakka Music Festival recently took place at the Hualien County Hakka Cultural Park. The event featured a diverse lineup of Hakka, pop, and indigenous music, aiming to showcase the unique cultural fusion of Hualien.

Performers included the indigenous youth group Haizi Band, music competition winners Hong Shang-jie and Guo Yan-lin, and Qi Luo Bo Shi Duo. The concert concluded with a performance by veteran singer Fan Yi-chen. Hualien County Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei stated that the county continues to promote cultural roots to create cross-ethnic and cross-generational exchange platforms.

Additionally, the Hakka Affairs Department announced that applications for the upcoming music composition competition will be accepted until September 18.
