Hualien to host 2026 Wildness ecological and film festival

The ‘2026 Wildness Hualien’ event is scheduled to take place on September 19 at the Hualien Railway Cultural Park. Organized by the Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau in collaboration with the Taiwan Wildness Natural Communication Academy and local cultural associations, the event focuses on ecological conservation and environmental education.

The program features a diverse range of activities, including a market, musical performances, handicraft workshops, and natural history film screenings. The event aims to connect ecological issues with daily life through various formats such as lectures on topics like the Taiwan black bear and wildlife plants.

A highlight of the event is the opening of the 16th Taiwan Wildness International Natural Film Festival in Hualien, featuring the documentary ‘David Attenborough: Ocean’. The screening will be followed by a discussion on marine ecology and conservation.
