Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital raises funds for Nepal and Tibet flood victims

Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital held a prayer and fundraising event to support victims of recent natural disasters in the mountainous border regions of Nepal and Tibet. The area was struck by severe ice avalanches, which triggered flash floods and debris flows, destroying homes and pilgrimage routes. The disaster has resulted in thousands of people reported dead or missing.

During the event, Tzu Chi Foundation Deputy CEO Lin Biyu shared updates regarding local relief efforts, noting that Tzu Chi volunteers have established care stations in the affected areas. Hospital Director Lin Xinrong led the fundraising efforts with an initial donation of 100,000 TWD, encouraging medical staff, volunteers, and patients to contribute to the relief fund.
