Huamanga Municipality liquidates investments with missing documentation
The Provincial Municipality of Huamanga approved the liquidation of four investments in June 2026 despite missing required documentation and formats mandated by municipal directives.
Two of these projects, involving the rehabilitation of ravines and urban expansion routes in Ayacucho, as well as the improvement of basic services in poverty-stricken areas, were executed in 2007 but only liquidated in 2026. These files lacked Project Closure Reports and Annual Patrimonial Execution Summaries.
Additionally, two more recent acquisitions from 2018 and 2022—a mechanical sweeper and landfill for non-hazardous waste—were liquidated without necessary technical-financial evaluation formats or quality control certificates. While municipal regulations require liquidation within 30 days of project delivery, the 2007 projects faced a delay of approximately 19 years.
