Huamantla launches state drawing contest for mental health awareness

The municipal government of Huamantla, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, CESMA, and the Ministry of Culture, has launched the “Pinceladas por la Vida” state drawing contest. Held in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day 2026, the competition invites individuals aged 19 and older to participate under the theme “Mental health is also expressed through art.”

Participants are encouraged to use art to convey messages regarding emotional well-being, resilience, and suicide prevention. Submissions must be original works using any technique on paper or cardstock measuring 50 by 65 centimeters. Entries will be accepted from August 3 to August 31, 2026, at the State Coordination of Mental Health and Addictions in Tlaxcala. Winners will be announced on September 8, with an awards ceremony scheduled for September 10.
