Huancané authorities demand construction of Puno health center

Authorities from 14 communities in Huancané have approached the Regional Government of Puno to demand the construction of the I-2 health center. The project, which has an allocated budget of 7 million soles, is intended to serve residents located approximately 10 kilometers from Huancané who currently lack nearby medical attention.

Community leaders, including José Manuel Condori Supo, president of the local Pro-construction Management Commission, have criticized the significant delays in completing the technical expediente. Although the document was expected to be finalized to allow construction to begin in 2025, officials have reportedly provided repeated excuses regarding specialist availability, leaving the project's timeline uncertain as the current administration approaches its term end.
