Huancayo student dies after being attacked by group of adolescents
A 13-year-old student has died after being attacked by a group of adolescents in Huancayo, Peru. The victim, identified as Milán, was stabbed in the chest and beaten while returning home near the intersection of Ferrocarril and Arica streets.
Witnesses reported that the attackers were carrying machetes. Although the boy was rushed to the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries hours later. Authorities have reportedly detained five individuals suspected of involvement in the crime.
The victim's mother, Elsa Quispe Palomino, has alleged that her son was a victim of bullying at the Santa Isabel school. She stated that he had been harassed by students, including an individual known as ‘Chino’, which had previously prompted her to transfer him to a different school. The National Police have launched an investigation to determine if the history of harassment is linked to the fatal attack.
