Huancayo woman dies following induced abortion

A 28-year-old accounting and finance graduate died in Huancayo, Peru, following an induced abortion. The woman, identified by the initials E. A. O., reportedly suffered excessive vaginal bleeding after checking into a hostel alone in the El Tambo district.

According to police reports, the woman was assisted by SAMU and transported to the Daniel A. Carrión Hospital, where she passed away before midnight on Saturday. Preliminary investigations suggest she may have ingested pills to induce the abortion. Authorities discovered a six-month-old fetus in the hostel room.

The woman's family stated they were unaware of her pregnancy or any attempt to terminate it. Police are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances to determine if the abortion was self-induced.
