Huawei and Amazfit release new smartwatches for sports tracking

The wearable technology market continues to evolve with new smartwatch releases focusing on specialized sports metrics and battery longevity.

Huawei has introduced the WATCH GT 7 Pro, a 46 mm model designed for outdoor activities. The device features enhanced metrics for cycling, including gradient data and a wrist-based power meter to measure output in watts. It also includes safety features such as visual and audio alerts for sharp curves based on terrain and speed. For winter sports, the watch offers specific modes for indoor and outdoor skiing and snowboarding, capable of tracking distance and speed even without GPS.

Meanwhile, the Amazfit Active Max is positioned as a high-value option. It features a 1.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen and supports over 170 sports modes. A standout feature is its battery life, which can last up to 25 days under standard use, or approximately 64 hours with continuous GPS usage. The device is constructed with a lightweight aluminum body.
