Huawei and Qualcomm sign multi-year patent licensing deal

Huawei and Qualcomm have established a multi-year, comprehensive patent licensing partnership. The agreement facilitates the cross-licensing of patent portfolios across several technological sectors, including 5G, artificial intelligence, computing, and networking.

As part of the arrangement, Qualcomm will acquire specific United States patents from Huawei in the areas of computing, AI, and networking. The completion of this transaction remains subject to necessary regulatory approvals. The companies stated that the agreement adheres to fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) licensing practices.
