Huawei and Xiaomi advance wireless earbud technology
Leaked details regarding the upcoming Huawei FreeBuds Neo suggest the earbuds will feature a more compact, rounded design compared to previous models. Expected to launch on September 2, the device is rumored to retail for approximately 129 euros. Technical specifications reportedly include 11mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC support, and active noise cancellation (ANC). The earbuds are expected to offer up to 40 hours of total battery life with the charging case and carry an IP55 rating for sweat and rain resistance.
In a separate development, the Xiaomi Buds 6 have undergone testing following their initial presentation. These semi-in-ear headphones utilize an 11mm driver with a three-magnet system and a 24-karat gold-plated membrane. The audio experience is enhanced by Harman Golden Ear Team optimizations, including Harman Master Mode and Harman AudioEFX. The device supports Qualcomm aptX Lossless and features dimensional audio with head-tracking. For calls, the Buds 6 employ a three-microphone system with AI-based noise reduction capable of mitigating background noise up to 95 dB.
