Huawei begins HarmonyOS 7 rollout for flagship and mid-range devices

Huawei has begun the phased rollout of its HarmonyOS 7 operating system, following its official introduction on September 7, 2026. The update introduces a redesigned glass-like visual interface, enhanced privacy protections, and deeper artificial intelligence integration.

The initial wave of compatibility includes flagship and mid-range devices such as the Mate 80 series, Mate 70 series, Mate X7, Mate X6, Mate XTs, Pura 90 series, Pura 80 series, Pura X, Nova 16 series, and Nova 15 series. The rollout is currently in a public beta stage, meaning software availability will vary by device and region.

Older generations, including the Mate 60 series, Mate X5 series, and Nova 14 series, are scheduled to enter the beta testing phase in October 2026. The new OS features updated system controls, such as transparent sliders and notification panels, alongside improved lock screen capabilities.
