Huawei boosts mobile network in Morocco and launches AI Campus solution in Southern Africa

In Morocco, telecom operator inwi partnered with Huawei to deploy a double‑band 8T8R mobile solution on the 1.8 GHz and 2.1 GHz bands along major transport corridors, including high‑speed rail lines and highways. The rollout, using Huawei’s HyperBeamforming and high‑gain antennas, increased signal coverage by 13 dB, extended range by about one kilometre, raised average downlink speeds by 83 % and tripled the number of active users the network can support. inwi’s deputy technical director Jamel Sakka highlighted the performance gains, while Huawei Wireless FDD product line president James Zeng said the deployment demonstrates the 8T8R technology’s ability to enhance connectivity without adding new sites.

Separately, Huawei unveiled an upgraded Xinghe AI Campus solution at its Network Summit 2026 in South Africa. The AI‑powered platform combines AirEngine Wi‑Fi 7, advanced cybersecurity and autonomous network management to improve enterprise campus networks across Southern Africa.
