Huawei CTO clarifies dual-band Wi-Fi concurrency support
Huawei Terminal BG CTO Li Xiaolong addressed user inquiries regarding dual-band Wi-Fi concurrency on the HarmonyOS 7 system. Responding to claims that the Pura X View could not simultaneously connect to 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for accelerated internet access, Li clarified that the device does support this capability.
While simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz operation is a standard feature of the Wi-Fi 7 protocol, Li noted that Huawei implemented this functionality as early as the Wi-Fi 6 era using proprietary private protocols.
Huawei has previously introduced Wi-Fi 6+ technology, a chip-level collaborative enhancement designed to improve anti-interference performance. For the Wi-Fi 7 era, the company has launched a Wi-Fi 7+ end-to-end chip solution. This solution utilizes the Lingxiao 760 series of router and terminal chips to support technologies such as dynamic narrow bandwidth, true dual-band concurrency, and seamless roaming.
