Huawei rumored to launch Xingmang sub-brand for mid-range devices

Huawei is reportedly preparing to launch a new smartphone sub-brand named 'Xingmang' (translated as 'Starlight'). While the company has not officially confirmed the brand, trademark filings indicate the name covers a wide range of electronics, including smartphones, laptops, smartwatches, and integrated circuits.

The rumored sub-brand is expected to target the mid-range market, potentially filling the void left by the divestment of Honor. Industry reports suggest these devices may be priced between 1,799 and 4,000 yuan and will likely utilize Huawei's proprietary HarmonyOS and Kirin 8-series chipsets.

In related technological developments, Huawei has showcased its Kirin 9050 Pro chip, which utilizes a 3D stacking architecture to improve performance and transistor density. Additionally, the company reported that its cumulative shipments of foldable smartphones have surpassed 20 million units, maintaining a strong presence in the foldable market.
