Huawei launches new smartwatches including medical-grade Watch D3

Huawei has expanded its wearable lineup with several new smartwatches, most notably the Watch D3, which focuses on cardiovascular health. The Watch D3 features a medical-grade mechanical airbag system integrated into the strap to perform ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (MAPA) over 24-hour periods. This device has received CE certification as a medical product, allowing for continuous monitoring during sleep and physical activity.

Other new releases include the Watch GT 7 Pro, which offers up to 21 days of battery life and features a non-invasive diabetes risk study via PPG sensor analysis. The Watch 6 Pro and Watch 6 series introduce the ‘Health Glance’ feature, enabling users to check eleven health metrics by simply placing a finger on a sensor. Additionally, the Watch 5 has received a firmware update to support external sensors for professional athletes.

These devices represent a shift in the wearable market toward precision biomedical tools, moving beyond basic fitness tracking to provide clinical-grade data for heart health, blood pressure, and metabolic risks.
