Huawei expands smartwatch lineup with health and fitness features

Huawei has introduced new features and models within its smartwatch lineup, focusing on health monitoring and fitness tracking. The Huawei Watch GT 7 features a ‘Physical Readiness’ function to evaluate the body's readiness for exertion and a ‘Mini-Workout’ mode offering thirty exercises lasting between 30 seconds and one minute.

For outdoor activities, the GT 7 provides advanced metrics such as a Running Ability Index, G-Force data for skiing and snowboarding, and ‘Climb Planning’ for cyclists to navigate elevation profiles. The device also includes maps for over 3,000 ski resorts.

Additionally, the Huawei Watch D2 is highlighted for its medical-grade capabilities, being the first device to offer ambulatory blood pressure monitoring on the wrist. This feature is NMPA and MDR certified and utilizes an inflatable strap mechanism similar to traditional blood pressure monitors. The Watch D2 runs on HarmonyOS, features an AMOLED display, and includes NFC for contactless payments.
