Huawei launches app to connect HarmonyOS devices with Apple Watch

Huawei Apple Watch HarmonyOS cross-device connectivity AirPods

Huawei has released the HarmonyOS Galaxy Connect app on the Apple App Store, enabling direct pairing between select Huawei smartphones and Apple devices, including the Apple Watch and AirPods.

Users can synchronize incoming calls, SMS, and notification summaries between their Huawei phones and Apple Watch. The app also allows users to view AirPods battery information on the watch screen and provides a mutual device-finding feature. Connectivity is facilitated through QR code scanning and a Huawei account login.

Initial compatibility is limited to specific Huawei models, including the Pura X View, the Mate 90 series, and the Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design tri-fold smartphone. Technical requirements include watchOS 10.0 or higher for the Apple Watch and HarmonyOS 7.0.0.109 or higher for the Huawei device. Huawei has indicated that more features and broader device support are expected in the future.
