Huawei launches HarmonyOS 7 beta for flagship devices

Huawei has opened a closed‑beta recruitment program for HarmonyOS 7, extending testing beyond developers to consumers. The beta covers more than 40 premium devices, including the Mate 80 series, Mate X foldables, Pura 90 smartphones and Nova 16 tablets. The update brings over 100 enhancements such as a global immersive visual space, AI‑driven Agentic capabilities that improve task execution, and strengthened privacy and security features like AI voice‑changing and QR‑code risk detection. The system package size ranges from about 10 GB to over 20 GB depending on the device. The rollout follows Huawei’s development conference, where a full public release is slated for later this year.
