Huawei launches Mate 90 series with advanced imaging and pTSF display tech
Huawei has officially launched its Mate 90 series, including the Mate 90, Pro, Pro Max, and RS models. Early sales data indicates strong market demand, with sell-out figures exceeding 270,000 units during the initial launch period from October 1 to October 4. The Mate 90 Pro Max, priced at approximately 9,999 yuan, accounted for roughly 40% of these sales, highlighting continued strength in the ultra-high-end segment.
The new series features significant hardware and software upgrades. The standard Mate 90 model includes an increased battery capacity of 6600mAh, a new self-developed flagship platform, and HarmonyOS 7.0. The Pro Max model introduces a high-performance telephoto system featuring a 200-megapixel RYYB sensor with a large aperture, aiming to balance high resolution, long focal length, and large sensor size.
Technological advancements also extend to the display. Visionox has achieved mass production of a 2K resolution panel with a 185Hz refresh rate using pTSF (Phosphorescence-Assisted Thermally Activated Sensitized Fluorescence) technology. Developed jointly with Tsinghua University, this fourth-generation lighting technology aims to improve OLED efficiency, reduce power consumption by over 12%, and extend screen lifespan by up to 20%.
