Huawei launches Mate 90 smartphones and Mate TV 2 series

Huawei has expanded its product lineup in China with the launch of the Mate 90 smartphone series and the Mate TV 2 Smart Screen family.

The Mate 90 Pro Max, featuring the new Kirin 9050 Pro processor, has shown performance benchmarks on Geekbench. The CPU scored an average of 1,317 in single-core and 5,381 in multi-core tests, placing its performance between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The processor utilizes a nine-core architecture and a Maleoon 955 GPU. While unconfirmed by Huawei, reports suggest the chip may be manufactured by SMIC using a 7nm process.

In the home entertainment sector, Huawei introduced the Mate TV 2 series, which includes Enjoy Edition, Standard, and Pro models ranging up to 98 inches. These televisions feature Super MiniLED Black Diamond panels capable of reaching brightness levels up to 5,000 nits. The devices are powered by the Kirin T92 processor and HarmonyOS 7, utilizing AI to enhance images and convert 2D content to 3D in real time. The Pro model offers up to 12 GB of RAM and 240 W of audio power.
