Huawei unveils Nova 16 SE phone, MateBook Pro S laptop and MatePad Pro

On 5 August 2026 Huawei announced a suite of new devices in China. The Nova 16 SE smartphone features a 6.84‑inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a claimed peak brightness of 8 000 nits, a Kirin 8020 processor, an 8 500 mAh battery with 66 W fast charging, and starts at CNY 2 499. It is offered in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB storage variants and comes in four colour options.

The MateBook Pro S laptop was also launched, weighing only 798 g and measuring 11.9 mm thick. It uses a 14.2‑inch flexible OLED panel (1600 nits, 120 Hz) and is powered by Huawei’s Kirin XE90 chipset. Several configurations are available, with prices ranging from CNY 7 999 to CNY 14 999, and a special “privacy display” version that switches to a hardware‑based view‑blocking mode.

Huawei introduced the MatePad Pro 2026 tablet, a 12‑inch flexible OLED device with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 1600‑nit peak brightness, a 10 400 mAh battery, and a weight of 439 g. It runs on the Kirin T93 (or T93A in the Enjoy edition) and starts at CNY 5 999. The MateBook Fold 2026 was revealed as well, featuring an 18‑inch foldable OLED screen (1600 nits), a Kirin X90 Plus processor, a 1.16 kg weight, and prices beginning at CNY 24 999. All products run HarmonyOS 6.1 and are initially available only in the Chinese market.
