Huawei launches Mobile WiFi 5 eSIM portable router

Huawei has introduced the Mobile WiFi 5 eSIM, a portable router designed to provide flexible internet connectivity by supporting both physical SIM cards and eSIM technology. The device allows users to switch between operators, such as China Mobile and China Unicom, automatically based on signal strength or manually via the Huawei Smart Life app.

The compact device weighs 96 grams and has a thickness of 13.7 mm. It supports up to 16 simultaneous connections with a theoretical maximum transmission speed of 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. The router is equipped with a 2400 mAh battery, providing approximately eight to nine hours of continuous use, and features USB-C charging.

Initially launched in China, the device is priced at approximately 44 USD. While it offers improved download speeds compared to the Mobile WiFi 3, it does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands.
