Huawei and industry leaders propose AI-driven network architectures

At the Global Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF) 2026 and various industry summits, leaders discussed the evolution of network infrastructure to meet the demands of the artificial intelligence era. Huawei presented its Next-Generation Wide Area Network (NG WAN) solution and the ‘LIGHTS’ all-optical network vision, designed to support AI Data Center Interconnect (AIDC) requirements through high capacity, low latency, and intelligent operations.

Industry experts from the World Broadband Association (WBBA), ITU-T SG13, and GSMA Intelligence emphasized the need for secure and resilient network architectures. Discussions highlighted that AI is reshaping the threat landscape, necessitating ‘Native Security’ and ‘in-depth defense’ strategies to counter accelerated cyberattacks and future quantum computing decryption threats.

In Nepal, Huawei hosted an event focused on accelerating F5G and AI digital transfer to support the country’s digital transformation. The industry is shifting from traditional bandwidth-centric models toward integrated services that combine bandwidth, latency, and reliability to drive new economic growth.
