Huawei launches Nova 16 SE with 8500 mAh battery and Honor‑inspired design
Huawei Technologies is preparing the Nova 16 SE, the latest addition to its mid‑range Nova SE line, which has not seen a new model since the Nova 12 SE in 2024. The device mirrors the design of the Honor Power2, featuring a rectangular camera island and gradient colour finishes, while introducing subtle changes such as a repositioned LED and a slightly altered camera module.
Key specifications leaked include a Kirin 8020 processor, a 6.84‑inch LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 50 MP main sensor equipped with Red Maple Imaging technology, and an unusually large 8500 mAh battery. The phone is expected to be offered in four colour options—black, white, blue and orange—and priced between 2,000 and 3,000 yuan, targeting the Chinese mid‑range market.
The Nova 16 SE aims to boost battery life as a primary selling point, while retaining a solid feature set for its segment. A launch date has not yet been confirmed.
