Huawei expands Pura 90s series with new 5G flagship models in Asia and Latin America
Huawei launched its Pura 90s series, featuring the Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max flagship smartphones. Both devices are powered by the Kirin 9030S processor, carry a 6,000 mAh battery with fast‑charging support, and run HarmonyOS 6.1/EMUI 16. The Pro Max hosts a 200 MP per‑iscope camera with up to 20× digital zoom, while the Pro offers a 50 MP main sensor with variable aperture and a 5 cm macro capability. AI‑driven photography tools such as AI Composition, AI De‑Glare, and AI Move are integrated to enhance image capture and editing.
The series debuted in Hong Kong in July 2026, with pre‑orders opening on 22 July and sales beginning 31 July. In Malaysia, sales started on 24 July, priced from RM3,699, and bundled with limited‑time service benefits. Mexico saw a launch through local retailers, pricing the Pro Max at 28,499 pesos (12 GB + 256 GB) and the Pro at 22,999 pesos. All models feature Kunlun Glass, IP68/IP69 ratings, and fruit‑inspired color palettes.
A separate comparative review highlighted how the Pura 90 Pro Max’s 200 MP telephoto lens stacks against the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera system, noting Huawei’s emphasis on optical zoom and raw image output. The overall rollout underscores Huawei’s focus on high‑end mobile photography and AI integration across multiple markets.
