Huawei unveils ultra-light 14‑inch MateBook Pro S laptop weighing 798 g
Huawei announced that its new MateBook Pro S ultrabook will be launched on 5 August 2026 in China. The 14‑inch device measures 11.9 mm thick and weighs 798 g, making it the lightest metal laptop of its size. Huawei achieved the low weight by using a magnesium‑lithium alloy chassis and a silicon‑anode battery that is about 10 % lighter and 15 % higher‑density than conventional cells.
The laptop is powered by the Kirin XE90 ten‑core ARM processor clocked up to 2.45 GHz, with 16–32 GB of RAM and 512 GB–1 TB SSD options. It features a USB‑C port on each side, dedicated AI keys, an active‑cooling fan, and a rear‑facing camera module. At the same event Huawei also revealed the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design, a foldable 18‑inch OLED device using the Kirin X90 Plus chip and supporting pen input, as well as the MatePad Pro flagship tablet (11.95‑12 inch OLED, T93 chipset, 66 W fast‑charge, Beidou short‑message satellite communication).
