Huawei Watch D3 launches with medical-grade blood pressure monitoring
Huawei has launched the Watch D3 smartwatch, which features medical-grade blood pressure monitoring technology. Unlike standard smartwatches that use optical sensors to estimate trends, the Watch D3 utilizes a mechanically inflated airbag cuff integrated into the strap to provide direct, clinically accepted measurements.
The device has received CE MDR medical certification in the European Union. It supports ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), allowing for continuous, 24-hour tracking and the automatic generation of detailed reports. New features include the ability to measure blood pressure both before and after physical exertion to monitor bodily reactions to activity.
In terms of design, the Watch D3 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, featuring an 11.3mm aluminum case and a 1.92-inch display with up to 3000 nits of brightness. The watch also includes various sensors for monitoring heart rate, ECG, sleep, and temperature.
