Huawei leads global wearable device market with 20.3% share
Huawei has maintained its leadership in the global wearable device market, according to IDC’s second quarter 2026 data. The company recorded 9.7 million shipments, capturing a 20.3% market share. This performance places Huawei ahead of Xiaomi, which saw 8.5 million shipments (17.7% share), and Apple, which recorded 6.4 million shipments (13.3% share). This achievement marks the sixth consecutive quarter of market leadership for Huawei since the first quarter of 2025.
To support its market position, Huawei recently introduced the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series in Munich, Germany. The new series features AI-driven health and fitness tracking, including a new Physical Readiness Score. This feature utilizes AI to analyze data such as sleep quality, heart rate variability (HRV), emotional stress levels, and body temperature to provide users with a personalized morning summary.
Other technical advancements in the new series include the AI-XDR technology for activity detection in indoor environments without GPS, specialized climbing features for cyclists, and the HUAWEI EasyCross strap system designed for ergonomic, single-motion attachment.
