Huawei leads OpenHarmony code contributions as version 7.0 releases

Huawei has emerged as the primary contributor to the OpenHarmony ecosystem. Data regarding the OpenHarmony 6.1 version reveals that Huawei contributed over 18.11 million lines of code, accounting for approximately 77% of the total contribution. Other significant contributors include DeepinAI, which contributed over 2.35 million lines, alongside various academic institutions and technology firms.

In a separate development, the OpenHarmony 7.0 Release version has been uploaded to the GitCode repository. This new release introduces support for the Unisoc P7885 chip development board, which enables 5G cellular communication, GNSS satellite status reporting, and NearLink SLE 1.0 connectivity. The update also enhances application development capabilities through modular object extensions, improved package management, and expanded media processing features such as audio PCM handling and offline caching.
