Honor Robot Phone set for August 2026 launch with 200MP gimbal camera

Honor is preparing to launch its Robot Phone in China in August 2026. The device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and feature a flat 6.3‑6.4‑inch display with a 1.5K resolution and ultra‑thin bezels. A high‑capacity battery of around 6,000 mAh is expected to support the power‑hungry components.

The phone’s hallmark is a mechanical 4‑degree‑of‑freedom gimbal mounted on the rear of the chassis. The gimbal houses a 200 MP primary sensor (f/1.6, 23 mm), a 50 MP ultra‑wide lens and a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, all manufactured by ARRI Imaging under a partnership announced by Honor. The system can rotate 360°, track subjects with AI‑enabled object tracking, and operate as a personal photographer assistant.

Leaks indicate the phone will be sold in two colour options, with pre‑orders opening in mid‑July. Pricing is expected to be in the premium segment, though exact figures have not been disclosed. Honor’s CEO Li Jian confirmed the device is ready for mass production, and the company has begun taking pre‑orders at its Chinese retail stores.
