Huawei Mate 80 tops Chinese smartphone sales in first half of 2026

Huawei's Mate 80 series became the company’s best‑selling handset in China during the first half of 2026, accounting for 14% of Huawei’s domestic shipments. The mid‑range Enjoy/Chuangxiang 90 Pro Max captured 11% of sales, while the Nova 15 held 10%. Huawei’s overall market share in the Chinese smartphone market reached 26.7% in week 18, meaning roughly one in four phones sold in China were Huawei devices.

The Mate 80 line, launched on 28 November 2025, had sold about 4.53 million units by week 11 of 2026, surpassing the previous Mate 70 generation by nearly one million units. The premium Mate 80 Pro Max contributed only 5% of Huawei’s total sales, highlighting a strong consumer preference for the standard Mate 80 model and mid‑range offerings.
