Huawei Mate 90 series to feature 200‑MP camera, 7,000 mAh battery and new Kirin chip

Huawei is preparing to launch its Mate 90 series in September with several high‑end hardware upgrades. Rumors indicate the top‑end Mate 90 Pro Max and the exclusive ‘Master’ version will be equipped with a self‑developed 200‑megapixel main camera, while the standard Mate 90 and Mate 90 Pro are expected to use a 50‑megapixel sensor. The devices are also said to house large‑capacity batteries of up to 7,000 mAh, a size previously seen only in Huawei’s Nova 16 lineup.

In addition to the camera and battery improvements, the upcoming phones are slated to run a new Kirin processor based on Huawei’s “Tao (τ) law”. The chip will employ LogicFolding technology, boosting transistor density by roughly 53 % and raising the peak P‑core frequency to about 3.1 GHz, representing a notable performance step for the brand’s semiconductor roadmap.
