Huawei launches MatePad Air with OLED PaperMatte display

Huawei has launched the MatePad Air, a new tablet featuring a 12-inch 2.8K OLED PaperMatte display designed to reduce reflections and mimic the feel of paper. The device is characterized by its ultra-slim 5.3mm profile and a weight of 509 grams.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a Kirin T93C octa-core chip and includes 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. It supports productivity through integrated AI features in WPS Office, such as document drafting and PDF summarization, as well as AI-driven handwriting enhancement and speech-to-text in Huawei Notes.

The hardware includes a 10,100mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge capability, a 50-megapixel rear camera, and a 12-megapixel front camera. In Malaysia, the device launched at RM3,999, marking a significant price increase over its predecessor due to the upgraded OLED technology and enhanced processing power.
