Huawei launches MatePad Air and Pro Max tablets with PaperMatte displays

Huawei has expanded the availability of its new tablet lineup, featuring the MatePad Air and the flagship MatePad Pro Max. These devices are characterized by their PaperMatte OLED displays, designed to reduce glare and eye fatigue by mimicking the texture of paper.

The MatePad Pro Max is a high-end 13.2-inch model with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, and a slim 4.7mm profile. It is powered by Kirin T93 or T93 Pro processors and runs on HarmonyOS 4.3. The MatePad Air is a more portable 12-inch option, weighing 509g and featuring a 144Hz OLED screen.

Both models support productivity tools such as WPS Office with AI capabilities and the M-Pencil Pro stylus. While the hardware is highly rated, some reviews note that the absence of native Google services remains a limitation for users within the Google ecosystem due to ongoing trade restrictions.
