Huawei opens pre‑orders for Nova 16 SE with 8,500 mAh battery
Huawei has started taking pre‑orders in China for its upcoming Nova 16 SE smartphone, with commercial sales scheduled for 5 August. The device is positioned in the premium mid‑range segment and is expected to feature a 6.84‑inch LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of up to 8,000 nits. It will be powered by a Kirin 8020 processor and equipped with a large 8,500 mAh battery that supports 66 W wired fast charging. The camera module is reported to include a 50‑megapixel main sensor using Huawei’s RYYB technology for improved low‑light performance.
A separate leak of live images revealed the phone’s design, showing a squared rear camera module and a centrally punched‑hole front screen, echoing the styling of recent flagship devices. The Nova 16 SE appears to be a more modest iteration of the Nova 16 family, which previously launched four models in June 2026. While official specifications remain unconfirmed, the leaked visuals confirm Huawei’s intent to expand the Nova line with a lower‑priced SE version.
