Huawei reportedly planning November launch for Mate X8 and new foldable notebook
Huawei is reportedly preparing to launch several new foldable devices in late 2024. Leaks suggest the Mate X8 foldable smartphone could debut in November, potentially alongside a new sub-brand called Xingyao. The Mate X8 is rumored to feature upgraded screen sizes, including a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8.15-inch main panel, a 50MP triple camera setup, and a battery capacity exceeding 6000mAh with 100W wired charging. It may be powered by the Kirin 9050 or Kirin 9050 Pro chipset.
In addition to smartphones, reports indicate Huawei is developing a smaller foldable notebook under the internal codename ‘Semporna’. This device is expected to be roughly half the size of the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design and may feature an external display for tasks such as viewing appointments, reading messages, and scanning QR codes. The notebook is also anticipated to launch around November or December, with estimated pricing ranging between 10,999 and 19,999 Yuan.
