Huawei unveils AI-driven energy showcases at Global Electric Power Summit

At the 2026 Global Electric Power Summit held during HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai, Huawei presented six global power showcases demonstrating the integration of artificial intelligence and energy systems. The summit, themed ‘AI × Energy: Unlocking a New Power System’, brought together over 600 representatives from global power companies, industry organizations, and ecosystem partners.

The showcased implementations highlight end-to-end digitalization and intelligence across various scenarios, including Brazil’s CEMIG digitalized grid, China Southern Power Grid’s microgrid coordination in Guangzhou, and intelligent diagnostics in Shaoshan, China. Other examples include intelligent power supply and consumption in Jiangxi, a ±800 kV ultra-high voltage digital substation in Shaoxing, and power communication networks in Liaoning.

Industry experts, including Philippe Adam of CIGRE, noted that the power sector is undergoing massive transformation driven by energy transition, AI data centers, and digitalization. Huawei’s strategy focuses on addressing low-voltage management gaps through six core capabilities: observability, measurability, controllability, adjustability, tradability, and traceability.
