Huawei held a launch event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, introducing its new Pura 90s series of premium smartphones. The Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max are equipped with the in‑house Kirin 9030S eight‑core processor, 5G connectivity, EMUI 16 with AI‑enhanced photography, and IP68/IP69 water‑dust resistance. The Pro features a 6.6‑inch LTPO OLED display, 12 GB RAM and a 50 MP triple‑camera setup, while the Pro Max adds a 6.9‑inch panel, a 200 MP telephoto lens with 4× optical zoom and faster 100 W wired charging.

The same event also revealed the MatePad Air 2026 tablet, which ships with a 12‑inch OLED PaperMatte screen running at 144 Hz, the Kirin T93C chipset, up to 12 GB RAM, and a 10,100 mAh battery with 66 W fast charging. The tablet will be sold in the Philippines, while the accompanying FreeClip 2 S Signature Edition earbuds, featuring AI‑driven adaptive volume, will not be released there. Both product lines aim to showcase Huawei’s move toward full 5G, AI integration and premium design after years of export restrictions.
