Huawei unveils ultra-light MateBook Pro S laptop, 798 g, slated for 2026 launch
Huawei announced that its new MateBook Pro S laptop, weighing just 798 grams, will be officially presented on 5 August 2026, with the first units expected to reach stores in China.
The device sports a 14‑inch touchscreen housed in an 11.9 mm thin chassis and is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin XE90 ARM‑based SoC. It will be offered with 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM, 512 GB–1 TB SSD storage, and runs Harmony OS. Three cameras – two on the rear and one on the front – are planned, with reports suggesting AI‑enhanced functionality. Five colour options are expected.
Huawei positions the MateBook Pro S as a direct competitor to other ultra‑light notebooks, highlighting its lighter weight compared with rivals such as the Apple MacBook Air.
