Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor raise smartphone prices in China

Major Chinese smartphone manufacturers Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor have implemented price increases across various mobile device models in the Chinese market, effective September 1. The price hikes range from approximately 200 to 1,000 yuan (roughly 26 to 128 euros) per device.

Huawei has seen some of the most significant adjustments, particularly within its Mate 80 series, where prices have risen by 800 to 1,000 yuan. Higher-capacity models, such as those with 1TB of storage, face the steepest increases. In contrast, more budget-friendly models like the Huawei Enjoy 90 Pro Max have seen smaller increases of around 200 yuan.

Honor and Xiaomi have also adjusted their pricing. Honor's Power2 and Magic8 series have seen increases ranging from approximately 39 to 64 euros, while Xiaomi's 17 Series and Redmi K90 models have seen hikes between 26 and 64 euros.

The price adjustments are largely attributed to the rising costs of memory components and anticipated double-digit price increases for Qualcomm chips scheduled for September. The data indicates that models with higher memory and storage capacities are subject to larger price increments.
